Colin was a season ticket holder at Underhill (home of Barnet FC) for 15-20 years, and for a number of years attended games with friends and neighbours. Whenever a goal was scored, in celebration or commiseration, sweets would be shared among the group. All presumably equally suffered from Colin's wartime sugar rationing!
